Our team at Airport Dental is dedicated to using the best technology to get the very best results.
By using the state-of-the-art CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) we can generate 3-D images of dental structures, soft tissue, nerve paths and bones to plan more precise treatments- especially useful for our implant procedures.
A 3D intraoral scanner is an incredibly useful handheld device used to create highly accurate digital impressions of the oral cavity.
Similar to digital x-rays, they are used for the diagnosis and treatment of issues with the teeth, gums and jaws. We use an intraoral scanner during procedures such as root canals and orthodontic treatments, as well as crown and bridge work, to monitor the treatment’s progress and help identify any potential issues at an early stage.
At Airport Dental, we use state-of-the-art guided surgery during the dental implant procedure for the best possible results. Other benefits include:
Reduced risk of infection and faster healing times- guided surgery requires a smaller incision than traditional implant treatments
Less pain- guided surgery is less invasive which can mean a more comfortable experience for the patient

Dr Mills has undergone extensive training in the cutting-edge area of Dental Implantology and has completed the prestigious Diploma in Implant Dentistry through the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. This Diploma adds to his already extensive training, enabling him to provide the most modern Implant treatments.
Dr Mills graduated from UCC in 2005. Following this, he completed postgraduate training at the Edinburgh Dental Institute while also working in general practice. Prior to returning to his native Cork, he worked in private practice in Edinburgh while completing his membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College in Edinburgh.

After spending five years working in general practice in Manchester and an additional five years in Galway, he is delighted to once again be home in Cork.
While working in Galway, David attended many endodontic (root canal) courses and developed a real passion for their treatment which, in many cases, can avoid the need for an extraction. He is an advocate for minimally invasive dentistry and is as conservative as possible in his treatments.
David also specialises in treating nervous patients and in cosmetic dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, he loves the outdoors and anything sports related, especially triathlons.

Dr Kaelan O’Shea graduated from UCC in 2013. Dr O’Shea has extensive training in oral surgery procedures having worked previously in Manchester Royal Infirmary A&E Department treating facial trauma and he qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons London with a Certificate in Oral Surgery in 2018. Dr O’Shea is the provider of IV conscious sedation for our Implant patients having completed training in intra-venous sedation (IVS) to offer his patients the chance of a more comfortable treatment experience.
Dental Hygienist
In 2015, she graduated from University College Cork (UCC) with a First Class Honours degree in Dental Hygiene. During her studies, she was awarded the Colgate-Palmolive Award and the Colm O'Sullivan Gold Medal.
Over the years, Aoife has gained extensive experience working in both general and specialist dental practices. She joined Airport Dental in 2026 and is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centred care. She has a particular interest in treating nervous patients and supporting those returning to dental health after a long absence from dental care.
Aoife is registered with the Irish Dental Council and is committed to continually developing her knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development.
Outside of work, Aoife enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and their two young children. She loves the outdoors, particularly exploring West Cork, and enjoys travelling whenever the opportunity arises
Dental Hygienist
She spent a number of years in the UK working in numerous practices with specialist dentists. She has a particular interest in orthodontics and has also worked closely with periodontists.
Her main focus is to provide her patients with the skills to allow them to maintain a healthy mouth. Gráinne regularly attends further education courses to maintain her dental skills
Practice Manager
In 2024, she extended her commitment by taking on the role of Practice Manager for both Elmwood and Airport Dental. Her background in customer support and service excellence has shaped her approach to practice management, and she brings a genuine passion for organisational leadership to everything she does. Shes dedicated to ensuring both practices run smoothly while maintaining exceptional patient care—from our dental and aesthetic services at Elmwood to our dental and specialist Implant Centre at Airport Dental.
