Your First Appointment

On arrival you will be asked to complete a brief medical history questionnaire. You will then be met by your dentist who will discuss any concerns or worries you may have about your oral health. A comprehensive examination is then carried out including a gum health check and oral cancer screening.

Digital photos or x-rays may often be taken to assist us in planning your treatment. Once completed the dentist will discuss the findings of the examination with you and what treatment options are available.

It is important to us that our patients understand the various different treatment options that are available to them and what the costs involved are. For any complex treatment we will provide you with a written treatment plan detailing the option and the costs.

Missed Appointments/Late cancellation

At Airport dental we respect our patient’s time and endeavour to run to time as much as is possible. Appointments are allocated to each patient solely for their individual treatment. If you cannot make an appointment, we need at least 24 hours notice. This allows us to offer the appointment to a patient on our cancellation list, or someone who is in pain and needs to be seen urgently.

If you do not cancel with good notice, or fail to attend your appointment, we reserve the right to offer no further appointments or charge a re-appointment fee. However, we understand that sometimes personal emergency situations will arise, and we reserve the right to waive the charge if appropriate.

Charge: €50 per 30min appointment

Payments

Payment for treatment is taken on the day the treatment is carried out. We accept cash, cheque and card payment. Payment plans are available for our Six Month Smiles Braces and our implant treatments.

Your medical or dental insurance may cover a portion of the treatment cost and we are registered with VHI, Laya, Aviva and Glow. You may also be able to claim back some of the costs from the revenue under the Med 2 scheme.

Our practice manager Agata will be happy to help with any queries related to payment.

Dental Emergencies

If you are a patient of the practice and have a dental emergency please contact the practice first thing in the morning. We will try to arrange an appointment as soon as possible to treat the problem. Please understand that emergency appointments are rarely available at our busiest times and some flexibility may be required from you as to the appointment time.

If you are not a patient of the practice and have a dental emergency we will try and accommodate you if there is a space available.
